In communities served by emili, you may receive a renewal reminder before your pet's license expires — by email, and by mail where your municipality has chosen it — depending on your municipality's renewal schedule and communication preferences. Renewing takes a few minutes.

Renew online

Sign in to the owner portal at emili.pet and follow the renewal action on your pet's file. Fees follow your municipality's by-law, the form checks for errors before payment, and your receipt is emailed on completion. No account yet? The portal has an “I have a license but no account” recovery path.

Renew in person

Prefer a counter? Licenses can also be renewed at your municipal office or participating partners such as shelters and veterinary clinics, depending on your community.

Pay less with proof

Many by-laws grant discounts for responsible ownership. Upload your documents once in your account and they apply automatically where your by-law provides for them:

  • Proof of rabies vaccination
  • Spay/neuter confirmation
  • Microchip certificate

While you're signed in

  • Confirm your address and phone number are current
  • Opt in to neighbourhood alerts when a dog is reported lost nearby
